ENTRY TO THE PUBLIC WORKS HEADQUARTERS _ TOLEDO

Toledo | 1996-1997

It is one of our first works. The first in which we use corten steel as a finishing material. Also phenolic plates. Steel has been incorporated into our usual palette of materials. We abandoned phenolic a long time ago, given its poor ageing.

The project includes in the complete urbanization of the environment of the Head Quarters Building of Ministry of Public Works of the Regional Government of Castilla La Mancha, located on the Paseo del Cristo de la Vega de Toledo. It solves the design of the entrance with an access control post along with the parking for the office building workers.

The unique elements of the intervention are the design of the entrance gate to the Ministry building, together with the control cab and the two lateral landmarks in corten steel, glass, and phenolic that define the entrance to the complex. The Ministry building, initially built in red brick, is today clad with ceramic and aluminium plates that have radically transformed its image.
