The intervention is carried out to recover the old step boat of the Tagus River in a beautiful place next to the Diamond House. The architectural performance evokes a vernacular tradition centuries ago connecting both banks of the river to supply the mill located on the right bank.
Two new pilled piers are built in the river bed, protected from the avenues with two lateral walls. The boat is so defended against the river floods.
Preliminary spaces for access to the piers, stairways and entrance plaza are designed. The only material used is the local granite from the city of Toledo.
Finally, the sediment and affected weeds are cleaned at the southern dock.
The place has become a highly appreciated tourist attraction.
