The state of the bridge before the performance carried out required an analysis of its pre-existing elements since the degree of alteration of them was very different.

The problems of the Steel Bridge have happened due to two main reasons:

The corrosion of its metallic parts and the authorization for heavy traffic not foreseen at the time of its construction.

Repair and conservation works are planned together with specific structural reinforcements.

– Piers and abutments: sandblasting in cleaning piers and abutments.

– Main beams: repair in the extreme areas of the arches, repair of meeting points with joists, repair and replacement of damaged posts and diagonals and repair of holes in the upper wing.

– Deck: repair of edge stringers on particular areas, lifting of the existing filler layer and pavement, paving of the deck with asphalt, construction of concrete slab and soundtracks on the road.

– Walks: the dismantling of the old boulevard and replacement with new steels, placement of tramex-type grille and repair of the existing railing.
